I’ve always been a great fan of cartoons & comic books: for the stories, the artwork, and the lettering. Vintage comics and cartoons had an incredible light-heartedness about them that made them irresistible (at least to me).
Mouse Memoirs Pro was inspired by the title lettering from Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Uncle Scrooge, and Beagle Boys comics put out in the 1950’s and 60’s. The letterforms had a balanced quality while still feeling quite animated, and I thought that the ever-so-slight flaring of the letters was a cool touch to set the lettering off.
Besides that all of that, I just loved the flattened bottoms of the g and y. It had me at “Hello.”
